ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – CLASS II (11 Months)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
- Demonstrates strong computer skills.
- At least two years effective and relevant work experience required.
- Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
- Detailed and organized.
- Possesses excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Possesses the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Building administrator or Supervisor
JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of an office so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performs secretarial and office management tasks.
- Formats and types confidential and general correspondence, reports, memorandums, forms,
statistical data, etc. as required or assigned.
- Protects information by completing and maintaining documentation with strict confidentiality. Holds conversations in a manner that respects privacy.
- Communicates by telephone in a pleasant and respectful manner and handles all calls with professionalism.
- Performs budgeting, requisitioning, and bookkeeping tasks as needed following established district
rules and regulations.
- Demonstrates skill and efficiency in the operation of general office equipment.
- Greets all internal and external customers in a pleasant and respectful manner and replies to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintains calendar for all activities.
- Maintains supervisor’s calendar.
- May be called upon to make travel arrangements for supervisors or other staff.
- Maintains files and records in an organized and secure manner.
- Acts independently to perform many day-to-day job functions with little or no supervision.
- May participate in the meet and confer process.
- Adheres to good safety practices.
- Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.
CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board Of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.
