ASSOCIATE TEACHER

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A valid Missouri Teaching Certificate is required.
  2. Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
  3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:                                                               Building Principal

 

JOB GOAL:                                                                  

To assist in the implementation of all aspects of the buildings RTI process, including, but not limited to, the delivery of researched based instructional strategies to individual students as well as small groups of students, and the progress monitoring of those students. Additionally, assists in the delivery of daily classroom instructions.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Under the supervision and direction of the classroom teachers, works with groups of students acting in
  2. the capacity of the classroom teacher.
  3. Implements research based interventions to identified students of small groups and/or individual pull
  4. out sessions.
  5. Under the supervision and direction of the classroom teachers, provides small group instruction to
  6. flexible groups of children in the regular classroom setting.
  7. Collaborates and communicates with the classroom teachers to plan and deliver appropriate
  8. instruction to the students who are being progress-monitored.
  9. Assists with the administration and scoring of curriculum based measures. (CBM’s)
  10. Guides independent study, enrichment work, and mastery work set up as assigned by the classroom
  11. teacher.
  12. Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with
  13. students.
  14. May lead large group activities while the classroom teacher is conferencing with students.
  15. Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, etc.
  16. Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of
  17. the classroom teacher.
  18. Serves as a substitute for the classroom teacher, as assigned or required, on an emergency basis.
  19. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as
  20. expected of a fully licensed teacher.
  21. May be assigned limited routine clerical duties such as filing, typing, etc.
  22. May be assigned a specific assignment such as hallway supervision, bus duty, car rider duty, in school
  23. suspension, after school suspension, etc.
  24. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
  25. Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
  26. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
  27. Other duties as required or assigned. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:                                                

The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.

 

 

CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
