ACCOMPANIST - SUBSTITUTE $22.00/HOUR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
- Must be an accomplished pianist.
- College work in the field of music preferred.
- College work in the field of education would be helpful.
- Experience as an accompanist preferred.
- Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Vocal Music Coordinator and Music Instructor
JOB GOAL: Provide keyboard accompaniment that will enhance the opportunity for vocal music students to improve their vocal music performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Provide keyboard accompaniment for choral ensemble classes offered at the middle and high school.
- Prepare all music, including piano score, individual vocal parts and combined vocal parts prior to daily rehearsals.
- Accompany ensemble performances for concerts, festivals, contests, and clinics.
- Accompany solo and small ensemble groups for district and state contests.
- Prepare rehearsal tapes for students.
- Accompany rehearsals and performances for high school musicals, when needed.
- Assist vocal directors with clerical responsibilities such as paper work, filing, music library, etc.
- Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
- Adheres to good safety practices.
- Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board Of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.
