QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an approved institution preferred.
  2. Knowledge of subject matter and ability to adapt teaching style to current research.
  3. Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
  4. Must maintain confidentiality.
  5. Effective human relations and communication skills.
  6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:                                                                     Coordinator, Adult Education and Literacy

 

JOB GOAL:                                                                          To provide instruction in academic areas and assist students in other areas as needed to help them realize their goals.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assess students on a regular basis to determine progress towards objectives and goals to verify learning.
  2. Demonstrate a knowledge of subject matter.
  3. Use a variety of teaching materials and strategies, including technology.
  4. Use instructional time effectively.
  5. Make regular contact with each student during class.
  6. Demonstrate ability to motivate students and help them reach their goals.
  7. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and positively with students.
  8. Listen and actively respond to learners’ needs and goals.
  9. Work positively and non-judgmentally with students of all cultures and social backgrounds.
  10. Provide students with specific evaluative feedback.

  17. Keep all required state and local records up to date.
  18. Adhere to good safety practices.
  19. Comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
  20. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
  21. Other duties as required or assigned. 

Requirements:                         Must obtain AEL Certification

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:               The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.

 

CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:                         The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.

                                                                                                    

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:                                           Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board Of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.

 

FLSA:                                                                                     Non-Exempt

 

RETIREMENT:                                                                    Missouri Public School Retirement System (PSRS)

 

CLEARANCES:                                                                    Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance

 

EVALUATION:                                                                    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance Based Administrator Evaluation process.
