SUMMER SCHOOL INTERNSHIP TEACHER

 

Job Title: Summer School Internship Teacher (June & July 2024)

Qualifications:

  • Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate

 

Reports To: Director, Work-Based Learning                                                           

JOB GOAL: The role of the Summer School Internship Teacher is a unique opportunity to provide a hands-on, immersive learning environment where students can apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios within their chosen career focus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop a structured curriculum tailored to the specific career focus of the internship program.
  • Deliver engaging and informative orientations, lessons, workshops, or seminars that combine theoretical concepts with practical application in the chosen career field.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to intern students, supporting their professional growth and personal development.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students navigate challenges within their internships sharing both achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internship coordinators, industry professionals, and colleagues to ensure seamless integration of classroom learning with practical internship experiences.
  • Coordinate with external partners or organizations to enrich internship opportunities and provide diverse learning experiences.
  • Develop assessment tools and criteria to evaluate students’ progress and performance throughout their internship experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress, assessments, and achievements during the internship program.
  • Ensure compliance with program policies, safety protocols, and educational standards during all internship activities.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between and beyond district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.

 

CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.

                                                                                                    

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.

 

FLSA:   Exempt

 

RETIREMENT:   Public School Retirement System (PSRS)

 

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:  Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate

 

CLEARANCES:  Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance Based Teacher Evaluation process.
